Self taught in various mediums; my enthusiasm for design began as a child with nature as my focal point. My passion for color, fiber and texture evolves daily and embellishes the surface of my daily life transforming inner vision through spinning and dyeing my own wool to knitting, felting, and needle felting. The natural world is my preferred palette and my theme bags/totes and felted sculptures are inspired by life's experiences and travel. I 'paint' with fibers and textiles and needles are my 'paintbrushes' celebrating life as I see it and feel it. My art attempts to express moments in time and each art piece is a personal expression or a response to a specific idea or place. My immediate love is felt and felt-making which I find extremely colorful and magical. I come from a family of artists, jewelers and painters. I use wool as the base for my felt art but I incorporate other fibers such as mohair, roving, silk,flax and metallic threads along with beads and sequins. Yes, I am an artist with a desire to create and play with concepts. My objective is to give life to fiber/textile as a fine art medium and to assist in providing humanizing links between people and art forms. Art and the love for art is my 'raison d'etre'.
